Mission Statement
The mission of the Career Center's
Professional Development Institute is to provide students with
professional and personal development opportunities that will help make
their transition from college to post-graduate life smoother. |

PDI Programs Are
For Everyone
The Career Center makes their programs along
with professional programs from other community and campus organizations
available to the entire campus through the PDI. Whether you are a
member of the Institute, or just looking to enhance your professionalism
in topics such as
résumé writing, networking, graduate school and internships, you can
sign-up for any of the classes in the Program Registration. |

Becoming a PDI member requires a completed
application packet turned into the Career Center at least two
semesters prior to graduation.

Members of the PDI will attend a wide range of
professional programs of their choice to complete the Institute
requirements.

Members will have the opportunity to participate
in great networking and professional development events.

Members will also receive official
Cocurricular Credit
for successful completion of the Institute.

The PDI is for students who have demonstrated a
strong desire to grow professionally, have leadership potential, and
a demonstrated motivation to participate in the program.

Apply to the PDI at any time as long as you have
at least two semesters of classes remaining.

Network with professionals, employers, and
alumni

Meet fellow Truman students with similar
professional goals and skills.

Faculty, Staff, Coaches & Advisers

Collaborate with the Career Center by promoting
the PDI membership and programs t o your students to enhance their
out-of-classroom knowledge and experience while at Truman.

Integrate professional development requirements
into your courses, on-campus employment, teams or residence hall
programs each semester by using the already organized PDI.

Do you have an idea for a program you would like
to see in the PDI, or does your department already sponsor a
professional event and you would like to open it to Truman's campus?
Collaborate with the Career Center to get your program on the PDI
calendar.

Does your Greek, academic, or service
organization want to increase the professionalism of its members?
Consider utilizing the PDI programming as an addition to your
organization's semester requirements.

Please remind your members of the programming
that may interest them by sending out emails and making meeting
announcements.

to see in the PDI, or do you already sponsor a professional event
and you would like to open it to Truman's campus? Collaborate with
